New products that track how customers spend money to detect fraudulent use of debit cards or bank accounts have helped to boost this company’s sales 64% a year from an annualised £5.3m in 2002 to £14.2m in 2004. Searchspace claims that its software monitors more than 400m transactions a day in institutions such as Lloyds TSB, Barclays and the Bank of New York. Headed by Jason Kingdon, it has raised £27m from venture-capital investors, including 3i and Montagu Private Equity.
