This drugs wholesaler and retailer started in 1975 when Kenyan-born Bharat Shah began supplying pharmacies and hospitals from his Watford pharmacy. The firm moved into making generic drugs from heart treatments to antibiotics. It offers next-day delivery of 2,500 prescription and over-the-counter medications to more than 4,000 pharmacies. Through its Sigmobility scheme, more than 600 mobility and disability related products are available. The family business, which had sales of £207m in 2007, has recently branched out into photographic and travel services.
