Profit Track 100

Sports fans watching the UEFA Champions League and Rugby World Cup last year will have seen teams playing on turf installed, manufactured and maintained by SIS Pitches. It was bought in 2001 by chief executive George Mullan, 58, who turned the firm around, and has since opened offices in the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey and Dubai. It offers a wide variety of playing surfaces to customers, which include major international football clubs, and in 2015 it launched its flagship product, SISGrass – grass pitches reinforced with synthetic material – which generated sales of £8m in 2018. Profits hit £3.3m in 2019, tripling from £1.2m in 2016. In March the company announced the temporary closure of its UK factory due to coronavirus.
