This 102-room hotel in Sloane Square attracts visitors to Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Belgravia, and says it has 30,000 guests a year. Its popularity was boosted by an £8.5m refurbishment in 2006, after John Tham and John Lewis, former owners and developers of The Clifton and The Royal Crescent in Bath, bought the hotel. Rooms priced at £150 a night, along with a successful restaurant and nightclub, have helped sales grow 64% a year from £1.4m in 2004 to £6.1m in 2007.
