This Manchester company, founded in 2014, has over 400 social media ‘communities’, which include popular Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, with a combined reach of 386m people. It targets advertising campaigns for brands – including Coca Cola, Amazon and ASOS – at relevant communities, claiming to be able to make any hashtag trend on Twitter within 30 minutes. Its workforce, which has an average age of 22, is led by founder and chief executive Steve Bartlett, 25. Rapidly growing its international presence by opening offices in London, Berlin and New York last year caught the attention of German media tycoon Georg Kofler, who invested $2m through his talent management firm NVC .
