Softcat sells software, hardware, security systems and IT services to medium-sized firms in Britain. It is a Microsoft gold partner and claims to have about 10% of the market. The Marlow business was established in 1993 by the chairman, Peter Kelly. The company has appeared on the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list for the past five years, and offers staff incentives such as trips overseas when they hit sales targets. Profits have grown 57% a year from £1.8m in 2005 to £7m in 2008.
