This Hampshire telecoms provider offers a one-stop shop for telephone systems, line rental, calls, broadband and mobile. It has 3,000 customers in southeast England, including businesses such as Le Creuset and Esprit Holidays, charities, schools and colleges. The firm was established in 1965 to make and install dictation systems that could be integrated with telephones supplied by the General Post Office (GPO). In 2002 it was bought out by management when director Paul Bradford took a majority stake. Sales have risen 43% a year from £2.4m in 2005 to £7m in 2008, and Southern is now looking to expand further through acquisitions.
