Southern Water supplies more than one million households, and treats and recycles waste water from nearly two million homes across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. In 2007, the business was bought by Greensands Investments, a consortium of pension and infrastructure funds led by JP Morgan, from RBS for a reported £4.2 billion. Chief executive Matthew Wright leads the Worthing-based company, whose sales increased slightly to £679m in 2010.
