Specialist Computers International

Keen to expand on to the Continent but reluctant to put the British operations of his Specialist Computer Holdings at risk, Sir Peter Rigby founded Specialist Computers International as a separate company in 2000 to carry out his plans. By 2002 he had built a continental European business with sales of £673m and 1,578 staff. As part of its acquisition policy, the firm bought GE Capital IT Solutions Spain for an undisclosed amount last March to merge with its existing Spanish business. Rigby aims to integrate the two companies to form a global IT provider. At current exchange rates, such a move would put the company in the top 10 of the Top Track 100.
