Top Track 100

Dame Mary and Doug Perkins, 75 and 76, started Specsavers in 1984 from their Guernsey home. Today, the Top Track 100 stalwart employs 35,000 people in 10 countries and sells almost 340,000 hearing aids a year. It says its success is partly due to its business model — each shop is part-owned by the opticians running it, while Specsavers provides marketing and IT support. The firm also has a mobile unit that visits people unable to get to a store.
