Tech Track 100

In a world where supermarkets sell everything from cornflakes to insurance, there has been an explosion in demand for financial websites. Spektra has capitalised on this, designing online systems for customers such as Tesco Personal Finance and Norwich Union. The Livingston, West Lothian, company was founded by Gordon Stuart after a 1996 management buyout from the Swiss multinational Schindler. Sales increased 91% a year from £1.3m in 1999 to £4.9m in 2001.
