Consumers who texted a code from promotional wrappers on Cadbury chocolate bars last year may be interested to know that the technology underpinning the promotion was developed by the London firm Sponge. It supplies mobile solutions to high-street banks, media groups such as News International, Northern and Shell and IPC, and to brands such as Birds Eye and Walkers. The company, founded in 2001 by Alex Meisl and Dan Parker, has seen sales grow 61% a year from £1.3m in 2004 to £5.2m in 2007.
