Brothers Paul and Oliver Collyer were teenagers when they created their computer game Championship Manager, which allows players to manage a virtual football team. The tenth edition of the game, released this year, sold 103,000 copies in its first weekend. Sports Interactive, founded in 1992, is now looking to broaden its appeal with an ice-hockey management game that will be out soon. Sales rose 83% a year from £664,000 in 1999 to £2.2m in 2001.
