Britney Spears looked as if she were flying on her recent world tour thanks to software developed by this London company. Stage Technologies designs and implements software that controls winches, flying equipment and 3D visuals in theatres, opera houses and casinos around the globe. The company says its software is installed permanently in many West End theatres, as well as being rented for one-off events. Founded in 1995 by managing director Mark Ager and operations director John Hastie, the company has grown its sales 55% a year from £4.2m in 2005 to £15.5m in 2008.
