When Boots wanted to revamp its flagship on Oxford Street, it called in Styles & Wood, which specialises in property management for retailers. The firm’s team of architects, space planners, technicians and designers undertakes construction and refits for many of Britain’s leading retailers, including B&Q, Marks & Spencer and John Lewis. Founded in 1995 by chairman Gerard Quiligotti and chief executive Neil Davies, the Cheshire company had sales of £145.2m in 2004. Last year, Aberdeen Murray Johnstone Private Equity bought a 40% stake from 3i in a £39m deal. Management owns the rest of the company.
