More than 500,000 tons of surplus food from brands such as Walkers and McVitie’s, as well as Sainsbury’s supermarkets, are collected by this company each year to produce animal feed. It also has a subsidiary, SugaRecycle, which helps clients reduce and recycle waste, and an agricultural commodity trading arm. Dating back to 1956, SugaRich is led by managing director Alex Keogh, 40. It continues to operate during the pandemic to support farmers and food manufacturers.
