Providing safety and survival equipment to the marine, defence and aviation sectors is Survitec’s business. The Belfast firm makes products such as life rafts and submarine escape suits from six sites worldwide. Warburg Pincus, the American private-equity house, backed a £280m secondary buyout in January from Montagu Private Equity, which had demerged the business from Air-Sea Survival Equipment in 2004. The company’s sales continue to grow and increased by 36% to £151.1m in 2009.
