Swire has interests in a range of sectors, including shipping, airlines, property, cold storage and agriculture. The group was founded in 1816 and is based in London but operates across the Asia-Pacific region, mainly in Hong Kong and China. It also has interests in America, where it runs two Coca-Cola bottling plants. Swire is chaired by James Hughes-Hallett, 63, and remains under family control. Its sales rose 15% to £5.6bn in 2012.
