Tangle Teezer makes 850,000 of its distinctive de-tangling hairbrushes each month. Rejected by the Dragons’ Den tycoons in 2007, hairdresser and founder Shaun Pulfrey, 54, clinched a deal in 2008 to stock the brush in Boots, and sales started to climb. The London company now ships its British-made products to customers in 110 countries and exports accounted for more than 80% of its sales of £23.2m this year. It launched a blowdrying brush in February and plans to introduce a new set of styling brushes next year.
