Formed from now defunct Marconi Corporation, Telent completed the process of reinventing itself this year, delisting from the stock exchange and relocating to new premises. Pension Corporation, which purchased the company for a reported £398m, also acquired the £3 billion Telent-sponsored pension fund as part of the sale. After divesting its equipment business, Telent is pursuing core competencies in integrated communications and security systems, supporting high profile projects like BSkyB’s broadband roll-out. Sales in 2008 reached £311m.
