Telent’s main business is in integrated communications and security systems. Some of its larger projects have included helping BSkyB expand its broadband network to 70% of British households. The group is also helping to renew Network Rail’s communication systems. Telent was part of the Marconi Corporation but delisted from the stock exchange in 2007 when the Guernsey-based retirement fund consolidator Pension Corporation purchased the company for a reported £398m. Sales reached £363m in 2009.
