This company started life in 2008 when founder and chief executive George Mackintosh, 57, bought a small Colorado-based software test tool developer with £1m in funding from Seraphim Capital. Its eggPlant range of software quality tools helps companies test applications across different platforms, and has been used by Bloomberg to test its terminals, and by Walmart to ensure its point-of-sales systems are robust. Sales reached £7.4m in 2014, boosted by demand for mobile testing software, and international growth supported by offices in San Francisco, Berlin, Shanghai and Tokyo.
