The online retailer, which ships books to 101 countries postage free, specialises in hard-to-find works, offering 6m titles covering anything from cake decoration to aircraft piston engines. The Gloucester company was founded by Irish entrepreneur Andrew Crawford, who was involved in launching Amazon.com in Britain. Customers can buy in five different currencies, and the company also offers foreign-language titles, which has helped international turnover to increase by 127% a year, from £10.1m in 2008 to £51.8m in 2010.
