The Cheeky Panda’s sustainable tissue paper products, including toilet paper and nappies, use a blend of bamboo fibres, and are sold in Europe, America and China. It was co-founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Chris Forbes, 45, and chief executive Julie Chen, 39, and in April it raised £2.4m on the crowdfunding platform Seedrs from over one thousand investors, valuing the company at £55m. Sales grew from £109k in 2017 to £5.8m in 2020, and it is forecasting sales of between £15m and £20m in 2021 due to new products and international expansion.
