The Edinburgh Woollen Mill more than doubled its sales to £566m in its last financial year, helped by its acquisition of Peacocks in 2012. It also bought Jane Norman in 2011, but put the UK and Ireland shops back into administration in June. The company, which opened its first shop in Scotland in 1970, is owned and run by chief executive Philip Day, 48.
