The Great Little Trading Company seems to provide everything a busy parent could want, from clothes and toys to personalised calendars featuring photos of their children. The company was founded by two American mothers who started importing products from the US that were unavailable in Britain. Alyssa Lovegrove, a former management consultant, and Caroline Clark, a former lawyer, have pushed up sales at the London company by 64% a year from £2.5m in 1999 to an annualised £11.1m in 2002. Internet sales account for 25% of revenue, with 75% coming from mail-order catalogues.
