This online retailer sells consumer goods across several categories such as health and beauty, fashion and entertainment. It operates more than 30 websites, which it claims serve 6m European customers. Recent acquisitions include Myprotein in June and last November. Chief executive Matt Moulding and chief operating officer John Gallemore founded the group in 2004 and it now sells more than 1m products. The company’s financial backers include Sir Stuart Rose, former chairman of Marks & Spencer, and the former Matalan chief executive Angus Monro, as well as the investment firms Balderton and Artemis. Sales at the Cheshire-based firm soared 142% a year from £6.1m in 2007 to £85.4m in 2010.
