This car dealer has grown from a single showroom in 1973, selling sports cars to people working in Aberdeen’s booming oil industry, to become one of Scotland’s biggest motor trade groups. It is led by founder and chairman John Clark, 69, with support from son Chris, 40, and has 26 sites in northern and eastern Scotland and more than 1,100 staff. Turnover grew 10% to reach a record £665m in 2015 from the sale of 25,000 cars, vans and motorbikes. John was made an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours.
