Sixty thousand tonnes of scrap lead, zinc, aluminium and copper are traded each year by the Remet Company. Subsidiary Avon Metals produces aluminium alloys and trades in small-volume, high-value metals. China is a key market for the company, with overseas sales accounting for almost 75% of turnover. It is led by chairman Walter Reid.
