The Search Works

Ever wondered why certain companies rank highest in an internet search? High positions on search engines are determined by a bidding process around key words such as “holidays” or “mortgages”. WSPS has developed software called BidBuddy to help clients such as Lastminute.com and Carphone Warehouse to manage the bidding process across the search engines in the most cost-efficient manner. When users click through to clients’ websites, the client pays the search engine a fixed amount and WSPS takes a management fee. Sales have risen 57% a year from £541,000 in 2001 to £1.3m in 2003.

This profile reflects the company at time of publication and does not reflect any changes that may have subsequently occurred. Fast Track and its sponsors do not endorse, guarantee or recommend investment in any of the companies.
