Thomas Vale

Named after its founder, a Victorian engineer who designed and built the cast-iron bridge spanning the Severn at Stourport, Thomas Vale is a Midlands construction group involved in new build, regeneration and restoration projects for the public and private sectors. Employing more than 800 employees, the company underwent a management buyout in 1992 backed by private equity firm 3i. Sales have grown under group managing director Tony Hyde to £195.1m in 2008.
