Managing employee benefits has been made easier and more transparent by this London firm. Perquisite, the flagship platform developed by Thomsons Online Benefits, gives employers and staff access to reward statements, pension modelling, and benefit administration. Founded by Michael Whitfield and Chris Bruce, the company also runs a consultancy arm for benefit design and implementation, for customers that include MTV and Vanco. In 2004, it underwent a management buyout backed by Pi Capital, which paid a reported £5m for a 54% stake in the business. Sales leapt 94% a year from £1m in 2003 to £3.8m in 2005.
