Frustrated over the process and speed of his regular blood tests, Eliot Brooks, 28, decided to launch this home-based blood testing business in 2015 with co-founders, Hamish Grierson, 34, and Tom Livesey, 30. Its technology has now been used by over 100,000 customers in the UK, who can measure blood markers such as iron, vitamin B12, cortisol, cholesterol and female hormone levels. Users then also can monitor their health over time through an online dashboard. Sales grew to £2.2m in 2018 and the company has raised £7.5m from investors including Taavet Hinrikus, co-founder of Transferwise, and Alex Chesterman, founder of Zoopla.
