The acquisitive internet-telephony company Timico was established by chairman Tim Radford after selling his previous start-up, Project Telecom, for £162m in 2003. The Nottinghamshire business handles fixed, mobile, internet and Voip telephony services for homeworkers and small and medium-sized businesses, giving them a single point of contact and one bill. This year it acquired Twang, which supplies computing services to teleworkers employed by BP and Vodafone. New customers, and the trend towards homeworking, have helped the company to boost sales 205% a year from an annualised £528,000 in 2004 to £15m in 2007.
