Founded 25 years ago by chief executive Jim Rafferty, 52, as a single MOT centre, this West Lothian firm now has a fleet of 9,000 rental vehicles and offers additional services, including commercial vehicle sales and service. The family-run business has expanded into the English market with acquisitions in Manchester, London and Leicestershire. It has plans to open a new centre near Birmingham by next summer. This year the company increased revenues to £143.2m, and expanded into car sales, buying the Alistair Fleming Citroën dealership for an undisclosed sum.
