Tragus

Tragus is the restaurant company behind high-street names such as Café Rouge, Bella Italia, Ortega and Ma Potter’s. Acquired by the private-equity house Blackstone late in 2006, Tragus remains under the leadership of chief executive Graham Turner and reported sales of £148.7m in 2007. This year it has added to its portfolio by buying Strada, the 54-site Italian restaurant chain that also controls the Bierodrome and Belgo brands. The company recently agreed a deal to open nine of its restaurants in Center Parcs holiday villages.
