After its £20.8m acquisition of MyTravel Financial Services in April, Travelex claims to have almost 25% of the UK foreign-exchange travel market, and it operates 650 outlets in airports and cities across the world. It has 14,000 corporate customers and processes 29m financial transactions annually. Organic growth, the MyTravel acquisition, and Travelex’s £440m purchase of Thomas Cook’s financial-services division three years ago have pushed up the London company’s sales 66% a year from £102m in 1999 to £463m in 2002.
