Susie Ma, 30, sold her first product at Greenwich market aged 15. Eight years later, in 2011, she convinced Lord Sugar to take a 50% stake in her natural skincare business. She has since signed up more than 12,000 brand ambassadors who sell its wares through “pamper experiences” across the UK. Crafting the range of skincare, make-up and haircare products is a team of “chefs” at its “beauty kitchen” in Croydon. Turnover reached £22.5m in the year to June, helped by growing demand for ethical goods — everything Tropic sells is vegan and cruelty-free.
