Trunki’s colourful ride-on suitcases for children became famous on the BBC show Dragons’ Den in 2006. Founder Rob Law, 35, didn’t get any investment in the Den but used the exposure to give his Bristol business a boost. Sales increased as the company expanded its range, and its products are now sold in shops such as John Lewis, Selfridges, Argos, Boots and Halfords, as well as online through Amazon and Trunki’s own website. The company sells to more than 90 countries, with exports accounting for 30% of sales.
