Chairman Shashi Vekaria, 67, and his brother, the late Arjan Vekaria, co-founded this construction business in 1977. The family firm, led by Shashi and his son, managing director Mitesh Vekaria, 43, offers building, engineering and joinery services, with a focus on Greater London. The company counts the Hilton and InterContinental hotel groups as customers and has refurbished the Dorchester Hotel in London. It also builds super-prime homes, social housing, medical and community centres and Hindu temples, and it supports charitable projects in the UK, Africa and India through the Vascroft Foundation. Profits reached £2.5m in the year to August 2020, but are expected to more than double to £6.6m this year as the firm is constructing more residential properties. The company says it has full order books, including a 400-unit new-build project in the home counties.
