Whenever you buy from the online shop at Virgin Megastores, BT, the BBC or Mothercare, you will use Venda technology. The London firm manages e-commerce sites on behalf of retailers and manufacturers, for a monthly fee of £5,000. Venda was partly created from the remains of the infamous dotcom failure Boo.com. Internet veteran Dan Wagner bought Boo’s technology and set up Venda in 2001. Its sales have soared 79% a year from £1.1m in 2003 to £3.6m in 2005.
