Husband-and-wife team Julien Labruyère, 43, and Victoria Johnson, 44, left their jobs in veterinary practices in 2011 to expand the Cambridge-based company that Victoria had founded two years earlier. It provides remote medical services for vets, clinics and universities, employing animal radiology specialists to write reports on CT, MRI and x-ray scans. Now with offices in Australia and America, VetCT offers a 24/7 service, and has clients as far afield as Scandinavia and Hong Kong. This year sales hit £6.3m and it launched the VetCT Telemedicine Hospital — a virtual hospital to provide instant specialist support to other vets in the UK which it plans to roll out internationally. It is also developing online teaching courses for university students.
