Founded by father and son Pratap and Sanjeev Ashar, Vivo Technologies develops accessories for GPS navigation systems and personal digital assistants (PDAs). The idea is simple, but practical. For example, Vivo has worked with courier companies to develop mounts for pocket PCs used by field workers. It has also integrated GPS technology into telescopes so that their position can always be known with great accuracy. In addition to these consulting services, Vivo operates the e-commerce site PDAmods.com. This online shop sells pocket PCs and GPS products. Such projects have helped the London firm to increase sales 204% a year from an annualised £422,000 in 2003 to £3.9m in 2005.
