Callum Henderson, 33, hit upon the idea for this business while out drinking. A friend offered him an electronic cigarette in the pub. A heavy smoker for more than a decade, Henderson used the device to help him kick the habit and it also provided the inspiration for the new venture. In 2012, he joined forces with his brother, Connor, 30, to open the first Vaporized shop in their home city of Edinburgh. The duo now have more than 140 outlets across Britain — making it the country’s largest chain of vaping stores. In 2018, sales hit £26.4m. It has rebranded as VPZ as the brothers target expansion across Germany, France and Spain. There is also talk of a possible stock market listing.
