After recent acquisitions Vue now has 151 cinemas in nine countries, and saw sales climb 38% in 2013 as a result. Formed in 2003, private equity firm Doughty Hanson bought the London group for £450m in 2010, selling it in August 2013 for a reported £935m to Canadian pension funds AIMCo and Omers. The entire Vue executive team, including chief executive Tim Richards, 55, reinvested in the transaction.
