Chief executive Tim Richards, 59, has grown Vue from six cinemas, bought in 2000, to 228 sites with 1,989 screens, across 10 countries. Sales were £790m in 2017, helped by hit films such as La La Land, Dunkirk and Rogue One. The cinema chain is backed by Canadian pension funds AimCo and Omers. Last month, AimCo was reportedly starting talks with prospective buyers for a sale of its 37% stake.
