Warburtons says it is the best-known bread brand in Britain, producing more than 2m products a day at its 12 bakeries nationwide, with annualised sales of £514m. It is famous for its sliced bread in waxy paper, but in recent years has diversified into wraps, sandwich thins, gluten-free products and pitta chips. Chairman Jonathan Warburton, 56, and cousins Brett, 58, and Ross, 55, are the fifth generation to run the Bolton firm.
