In the three years since setting up a consultancy business with his personal savings, managing director Kieron White has signed up 32 clients looking for help with managing change. Most of WCL’s business is in central and local government. Recent contracts include liaising with the Department for Education and Skills on improving school meals. The London company also plans to grow its private-sector business in the next year. Sales soared 173% a year from an annualised £302,000 in 2003 to £6.2m in 2006, when WCL made a healthy profit.
