Most famous for brands like Alpen, Ready Brek and the cereal from which it takes its name, Weetabix continues to introduce new brands, including Oatibix, Weetaflakes, Alpen breakfast bars and a range of children’s cereals branded with Disney characters. In 2003, Lion Capital took control from the George family in a £642m buyout. Under the guidance of chief executive Ken Wood and his team, sales grew to £372.4m in 2006.
