This Cheshire-based firm is creating a marketplace for the data generated by connected vehicles, such as live traffic and parking updates, and analysis of related trends. Among its platform’s capabilities, it says, is helping to reduce congestion and pollution, while also forecasting traffic and incident hotspots. Founded in 2014 by chief executive Richard Barlow, 41, it has around 200 staff across offices in Tattenhall and Manchester in the UK, in San Jose, California, and in Austin, Texas. It forecasts that 17m vehicles will be on its platform by the end of 2019, and has raised a total of $143m from investors including General Motors, which owns a 35% stake in the company.
